This page explains the cookies and similar technologies used on officefurniture247.co.uk, what they do, and how you can choose which ones we use. It sits alongside our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle personal information more generally.

You can also delete or block cookies in your browser settings. If you block the strictly necessary cookies, your basket, sign-in and checkout will stop working.

These make the website work. They cannot be switched off, and the law does not require your consent for them, because the shop could not work without them.

• Basket and session. Keep the items in your basket as you move between pages and through the checkout. Stored as the sessionId cookie, set by our platform, which lasts up to about a day after your last visit, and as basket data in local storage, which stays until you clear your browser data.
• Visit and visitor references. Link the pages of your visit together and recognise your browser on a later visit, so the basket and checkout work and misuse can be spotted. Our platform also uses them for its visitor statistics, described below. Stored in local storage as orbit_session_id and orbit_visitor_id, until you clear your browser data.
• Store identity. Tells the website which shop you are browsing, so the right products and prices load. Stored in local storage as orbit_store_id, until you clear your browser data.
• Signing in. Keeps you signed in to your account. Stored as the orbit_auth_token cookie and sign-in details in local storage, until you sign out or your sign-in expires.
• Checkout and payment. Stripe, which processes our payments, may set its own cookies when the payment form loads, to take your payment securely and prevent fraud. Stripe's own cookie policy lists them.
• Password protection. If our shop is password protected, for example before it opens to the public, the store-access cookie remembers that you entered the password. Lasts up to 30 days.
• Your cookie choice. Remembers the choice you made in the cookie banner, so we do not ask on every page. Stored as the oc-consent and oc-consent-id cookies. Lasts 6 months.
• Display settings. Remember display settings such as currency and language. Stored as the orbit_currency_code and orbit_locale cookies. Last 1 year.
• VAT view. Remembers whether you chose to see prices with or without VAT using our VAT switch. Stored in session storage as orbit:vat-view, until you close the browser tab.
• Load balancing. Keeps your visit connected to the same server, so the website stays stable. Set by our hosting as the AWSALB and AWSALBCORS cookies. Lasts 7 days.

Orbit Commerce, the platform our shop runs on, records the pages viewed during each visit, so that we can see how many people visit our website, which pages they look at and what type of device they use. It uses the orbit_session_id and orbit_visitor_id entries listed above.

These statistics are first party. They are not shared with advertisers or other websites, and they are not used to build a profile of you across other websites. At present the platform keeps these statistics whichever way you answer the cookie banner.

• Recently viewed products. The platform keeps a list of the products you have looked at recently, so it can show them back to you. Stored in local storage as orbit_recently_viewed, on your device, until you clear your browser data. At present the platform keeps this list whichever way you answer the cookie banner.
• Wishlist. If you save products to a wishlist, the list may be kept in local storage as orbit_wishlist, so it is still there when you come back. It stays until you remove the items or clear your browser data.

These are only set if you agree to them, either by choosing Accept all or by switching the category on under Manage preferences.

Remember choices that make the website more convenient to use.

Help us understand which pages are used and where people have difficulty, so we can improve the website. If we use an analytics service from another company, it only loads after you allow analytics cookies.

Help us measure our advertising and show you relevant adverts on other websites. If we use advertising or conversion tracking tools, they only load after you allow marketing cookies.

When we add a tool in one of these categories, we will name it on this page and in the preferences panel of the cookie banner before it is used, and it will not load unless you have switched that category on.
